What does the Bible teach about LGBTQ+?

What did Jesus teach?

Bible verses in blue

Jesus words in red

Whether you're gay, straight, trans or whatever, Jesus wants to spend forever with you. And he's done everything necessary for that to be able to happen.

The ball's in your court.

Some of the following may be somewhat offensive to both gay and straight - please read to the end before making a judgment.

"The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."

    Jesus - John 18:37

Speaking the truth got Jesus hated and killed - but he was still willing to die for those who hated and killed him.

Unfortunately, even after dying for them, many were still not interested in the truth. That hasn't changed.

What did Jesus teach regarding LGBTQ. What does the Bible really teach?

Today many who consider themselves Christians are confused as to what the Bible teaches. Many pastors, priests and ministers have been hesitant to talk about trans and homosexuality in their sermons, and so many Christians aren't sure what the Bible really teaches.

Others ignore what the Bible teaches, and instead teach what they believe.

This website will share what the Bible says, and it will be your decision to accept or reject it.

Jesus taught about trans and homosexuality in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. And he was very clear.

Who was Jesus?

In order to understand what Jesus taught and what the Bible teaches regarding trans, homosexuality, etc., we need to have the proper understanding of Jesus.

Jesus taught, the apostles taught, and the entire Bible teaches:

The God of eternity, the God of creation, the God of the Old Testament - came to earth and became a man - Jesus.

This is the meaning of Christmas. This is foundational Christian belief - belief in any other Jesus in not belief in the Jesus of the Bible.

"Behold the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").  Matthew 1:23

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."

    John 1:1-3, 14

Many think the Old Testament God and the New Testament God are somehow different - the Old Testament God is harsh, and the New Testament God is loving - but the Bible teaches there is only one God, and Jesus identified himself with the same God revealed in the Old Testament. Here is an example as the religious leaders argued against Jesus:

"Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad."

"You are not yet fifty years old," they said to Jesus, "and you have seen Abraham!"

"Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "Before Abraham was born, I am!"  At this the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

    John 8:56-59

Here, Jesus not only says he was "I am" before Abraham (who was on earth almost 2000 years earlier), but this is also the same way God identified himself to Moses (over 1000 years earlier):

"Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, "The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"

God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you," Exodus 3:13-14

The 'I AM' who appeared to Moses in the wilderness:

    - Performed all the miracles in Egypt - Exodus 4-11

    - Delivered the Israelites from slavery - Exodus 12-13

    - Parted the Red Sea - Exodus 14

    - Met Moses on the mountain and gave the Old Testament Law - Exodus 19-24

    - God continued giving the Law in the books of Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy

The Old Testament Law was written by Moses but given by God - the same God Jesus identified with.

Some say Jesus didn't say anything about trans or homosexuality - but that is not true. By declaring himself as "I am" Jesus was saying he was there - as the Son of God, with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit - giving Moses the Law. Before He came to earth and became a man. And the Old Testament Law talks specifically about trans and sexual relations between men.

Jesus' teachings in the New Testament are in agreement with the Old Testament. Consider this teaching from Jesus' famous Sermon on the Mount:

"Do not think I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." Matthew 5:17-18

The "Law and the Prophets" are what we call the Old Testament today.

In fact, Jesus' teaching on the Old Testament Law in his Sermon on the Mount can seem even harsher than the Old Testament:

"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' But I tell you that anyone who holds anger against a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.

"You have heard it said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell" Matthew 5:21-22, 27-30

Jesus continued with other strong teachings and then said:

"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Matthew 5:48

Can anyone reading this fulfill that last statement? In the history of mankind there has only been one person good enough to fulfill the Law - Jesus. If you think you're good enough to deserve heaven - Jesus said no you're not. Your only option in getting right with God is to put your faith in Jesus - who loves you and died for you.

What was the point of the Old Testament Law?

God wanted a people who would be different in their actions and their attitudes. This teaching of Jesus from the New Testament shows what God was really looking for from the Old Testament Law:

'To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:

"Two men went up to the temple to pray, a Pharisee (a Jewish religious leader) and a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other people - robbers, evildoers, adulterers - or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tithe on all I get.'

But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, "God, have mercy on me, a sinner."

Then Jesus makes an incredible statement:

"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God."

    Luke 18:9-14

This was before Jesus' death and resurrection - they were still under the Old Testament Law - how could Jesus say this man was justified before God?

This man showed faith in God - which included humility and a recognition of his own sin before God - exactly what the Old Testament Law was designed to lead to.

The New Testament teaches a similar message - when we repent (change direction) and put our faith in Jesus and his death and resurrection for us - we also should be humble before God, recognizing our sinfulness.

If Jesus was the same God as the Old Testament God - how do we reconcile Jesus' teaching on love in the New Testament vs. some very strong statements against trans and sex between men in the Old Testament? What about the 'Stoning' of homosexuals taught in the Old Testament?

The Old Testament of the Bible contains some very difficult verses regarding sexual sins, even listing several sexual sins punishable by death, typically by 'stoning' - adultery, homosexual sex, sex with close relatives, etc. For example:

"If a man commits adultery with another man's wife - both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death."

    Leviticus 20:10

And the following verse which some have used to bash gays with:

"If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable - they are to be put to death."         Leviticus 20:13

But was 'stoning' or putting people to death really what God was teaching?

Before the above verses Leviticus also says this:

"Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death."

        Leviticus 20:9

Would a loving parent have their child put to death - no matter how old their child was? Is that really what God wanted?

New Testament

In addition to the tax collector story above, the New Testament gives other examples of the proper understanding of the Old Testament Law:

For example, in the famous Christmas story Joseph finds out that Mary (the mother of Jesus) is pregnant:

'This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.

Because Joseph her husband was a just man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.'

    Matthew 1:18-19

Did Joseph consider having Mary 'stoned' for adultery?  Like the Law said?

No - and the Bible says this is because he was a 'just man.'

Another example is in the well-known story of the woman caught in adultery.

The religious leaders said to Jesus:

"Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?

Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let whoever is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." Again, he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"

    "No one, sir," she replied.

"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."

    John 8:3-11

Jesus would have undoubtedly said the same thing had they brought him someone caught in homosexual sex - "Neither do I condemn you - go now and leave your life of sin."

The Old Testament Law was not written to make people righteous, but for people to recognize their own unrighteousness, and show humility and mercy - not to go around 'stoning' people.

Jesus said this to the religious hypocrites of his day:Go find out what this means - 'I desire mercy - not sacrifice." Matthew 9:13 - quoting their Old Testament Scripture - Hosea 6:6

Someone has said: "It's amazing how bad our sins look when someone else is committing them."

Unfortunately, both Christians and non-Christians have been guilty of 'stoning' gays in our day - using words like faggot, queer, homo, etc.

'Religious' people have used Bible verses like the ones in Leviticus quoted above to condemn those with trans and homosexual desires. As though they are better. Jesus was constantly in conflict with 'religious' people during his earthly ministry. People who thought they were superior to others.

A true Christian should know they are no better than anyone - in fact true Christians can find themselves struggling with feelings of guilt and inferiority as they fight against their own sinful tendencies. Many have been falsely taught that if they put their faith in Jesus all their sinful desires will pretty much disappear. This may be true for some - but not the majority.

What About LGTBQ+ Issues Today?

As mentioned earlier, God wanted a people who were different in actions and attitude - that hasn't changed. Jesus did not condemn the woman caught in adultery above, but he did say: "Go now and leave your life of sin."

The Bible is clear about God's attitude regarding trans and homosexual sex:

"A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the Lord your God detests this." Deuteronomy 22:5

"Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable." Leviticus 18:22

God didn't just say don't do it, He shared his feelings about it - and they are very strong feelings.

The Bible says - "Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever." Hebrews 13:8

If God is love - and the Bible declares he is, and the Bible is accurate - as Jesus said it is, there are good and loving reasons God doesn't want men dressing and acting like women or men having sexual relations with each other.

The Bible nowhere condemns someone just because they have gay or trans desires, but it does clearly say don't do it. And that God doesn't like it if we do.

Jesus said above that the Law would continue 'until heaven and earth disappear.' So how do we get out from under our guilt revealed by the Law?

Jesus said, "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36

'Jesus came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.'

    John 1:11-13

'For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.'

    Romans 10:4

The Bible gives only one way to get out from the guilt we all share - putting our faith in Jesus and his death for our sins and his resurrection. When we do that, we are reborn spiritually and God's Holy Spirit comes into us to help us in our journey through this life.

Jesus said - "No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." John 3:3

Jesus was asked, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"

Jesus answered
, "The work God requires is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

John 6:28-29

A person is made right with God not by doing things over and over to try to be good enough, but by simply believing in Jesus and what he did on the cross for the forgiveness of their sins. That's good news!

What about Loving and Accepting Everyone?

Sometimes instead of adding more and more letters we see this - LGBTQ+ - the '+' can stand for 'loving and accepting everyone.'

Isn't that how Christians are supposed to be?

The Bible says, "God is love" (I John 4:8) and that, "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son," (John 3:16) and the Bible says similar things in many other verses.

When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus said the first was to: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength." And the second was to: "love your neighbor as yourself." Mark 12:30-31

Jesus also taught: ". . . true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is Spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth." (John 4:23-24)

Jesus called the Holy Spirit that would come to his followers the "Spirit of truth." John 14:17

God wants both love and truth.

Christians have an obligation to love people, especially those that are being mistreated - whether gay, straight, trans, non-binary, male, female, rich, poor, black, white, red, yellow, or whatever. But in loving people Christians should not compromise on what God says is right and wrong.

If we don't share the truth with our neighbor - we are not really loving our neighbor.

Can someone who engages in trans behavior or homosexual sex be a Christian?

The Bible says:

'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.Romans 10:13

It doesn't matter whether a person is gay or straight or whatever. When a person turns to Jesus in faith this is called 'repentance.' Repentance literally means - 'to change direction.'  When a person repents and puts their faith in Jesus as their Savior - they are 'born again' and God's Spirit comes into them. They become a 'new creation.' II Corinthians 5:17

About such people the Bible says this:

'No one who is born of God will continue to sin; because God's seed remains in them, they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. I John 3:9

Does this mean Christians don't sin? No! A few verses before the above verse the Bible says this:

'My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.'  I John 2:1

If a Christian is living in a sinful lifestyle, whether or not they initially realize it's sinful - based on the above verses they should come to recognize that what they are doing is wrong. God's Holy Spirit in them - combined with their reborn spirit - will cause this to be so. That doesn't necessarily mean the desire to sin goes away - for many it doesn't.

If a person is living in a sinful lifestyle and they feel no guilt or concern over time, and they are saying God approves of this lifestyle - it could be because they have not been born again and are therefore not Christians based on the biblical definition.

They may be really nice people and do a lot of good things - but if they have put their faith in Jesus and been 'born again' - they should come to realize that engaging in trans behavior or homosexual sex is not what God wants for them. They may struggle with controlling their desires - but a person that has repented and put their faith in Jesus - should be humble before God and not proud of their gay or trans desires.

It is no different with adultery. A couple may say they have strong sexual desires that cannot be fulfilled by just their spouses. They may say they have had these strong sexual desires since childhood - that they were born this way - that God made them this way. And so, they join the 'swinging' lifestyle. They may say this lifestyle is natural and good for them - and not adultery - and it doesn't hurt anyone. If they have been born again, they should come to think differently.

Are 'gays' born gay?  What about children who experience same sex attraction?

While for some it may be a choice, it appears that for the majority - homosexual desires are there from early age. Whether this is genetic or not we don't yet know.

The Bible teaches that since Adam and Eve sinned all of us have had passed down from them:

    1) Being created in the image of God
    2) Having a sinful nature.

We see this every day - man has the capacity to do both incredible evil and also do incredible good.

Whether our sinful nature is in our genes we don't yet know - but we do know that our sinful nature opposes God and can manifest itself even in our youth:

'The Lord said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though the inclination of the human heart is evil even from childhood."  Genesis 8:21

How Our Sinful Nature Affects Us

Our sinful nature manifests itself in different ways: One struggles with sexual temptations, another struggles with anger, another gossiping, another lying, another overeating, another drunkenness, etc., etc., etc. Most of us struggle in many ways.

Regarding sexual temptation: In studies it has been said that almost 90% of adult men - whether married or single - struggle with sexual temptations and lust to varying degrees. For the straight man this is a temptation to engage in inappropriate sexual relations with a woman. For the gay man it is a temptation to engage in inappropriate sexual relations with another man. For the bi-sexual it can be both. For the pedophile the attraction is toward children.

Followers of Jesus are called to fight against our sinful natures - not just give in to them and say we were born this way so it's ok. Some people may say it's ok - even some pastors, priests, and ministers - but that doesn't make it ok in God's eyes.

'Put to death whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.'

Colossians 3:5

A 'straight' is no better than a 'gay' and a 'gay' is no better than a 'straight.' According to the Bible both have the same problem - they are sinners - and Jesus loves both and showed it by dying for both. And each are lost if they reject what Jesus did for them. The 'straight' that looks down on the 'gay' has lost sight of his own sin problem. While the temptations may be different both 'straight' and 'gay' are in similar battles and should be helping each other in their fight.

Gay and straight are similar in that both are created in the image of God - their sinful natures just cause different desires.

Our desire to sin leads to temptation. If we are tempted to sin - whether we are born with this desire to sin or not - the Bible says we shouldn't say this desire is from God:

'When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin when it is fully grown, gives birth to death.' (James 1:13-15)

Sexually - Is what we are seeing today in society something new?

The Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes says this:

"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new?" It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time."  Ecclesiastes 1:9-10

Sexually much of the world seems to think we are in the midst of some type of 'progressivism,' but according to the Bible we are simply going back to doing things sexually people did in the past. Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, etc. all had societies that were much more accepting of sexual experiences and differences than today.

For example, we may think T (trans) and Q (queer, questioning) is something new. Consider this Bible verse written thousands of years ago:

"A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the Lord your God detests this."  Deuteronomy 22:5

According to the Bible, someone questioning their identity is nothing new. Technology has certainly changed - people can have surgery now and take hormones to change what they look like, but the desire to change goes way back.

     Is God Fair?

Is it fair that God would say trans or homosexuals should not fulfill their desires?

The fairness of God has been challenged since the beginning when Satan tempted Eve:

"You will not die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."  Genesis 3:4-5

In other words - 'God's holding out on you Eve - he's not being fair.'

Ever since Eve bought Satan's lie - life hasn't been fair.

Little children are abused by sexual predators, trafficking of girls and boys is rampant, women are brutally raped, people struggle with incredible mental and physical challenges, parents mistreat and even sexually abuse their own children, innocent people are shot and killed, many starve to death while others have more than they need, and on and on and on.

The Bible describes Satan tempting Jesus, one of those temptations is as follows:

'The devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. "All this I will give you," he said, "for it has been given to me and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you will bow down and worship me, it will all be yours."

    Luke 4:5-7

On this earth are things always fair? No way - this earth is where Satan has established his kingdom. Great, great evil is happening on this earth - but this earth is not all there is.

The one person in history who never sinned was certainly not treated fairly:

Jesus was convicted in an illegal trial, he was brutally whipped, he was blindfolded and then he was punched over and over, he was spit on and mocked, he had his beard pulled out of his face, he was nailed to a cross bloody and naked - and he had our sin piled on him.

Was that fair?

That morning before he went to the cross Jesus was questioned by Pilate, the Roman governor - and Jesus said this:

"My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish religious leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place."   John 18:36

Jesus' kingdom is not here - yet. We pray as Jesus taught: 'Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.' Those multiplied millions of prayers are awaiting complete answer.

Those who have put their faith in Jesus have entered into God's kingdom, but we don't see it here yet. We see a world in a mess - and we long for the day Jesus will return and make things right:

Those who have put their faith in Jesus have entered into God's kingdom:

"God has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:13-14

One day Jesus will return and establish his kingdom:

"The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: 'The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever." Revelation 11:15

If you have gay or trans desires, you've been dealt a tough hand here on this earth. Not as tough as some - but tougher than many.

But you have to decide - just like everybody else - will you live for this kingdom here on earth? Or will you look to Jesus and his kingdom?

There is a kingdom awaiting those who put their faith in Jesus where it will finally be fair - where Jesus 'will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.'

Revelation 21:4

Jesus knows the struggle you're in and the battles you face here on this earth. He loves you and he died for you. He desires for you to put your faith in him and enter into his kingdom, and to join him where someday things finally will be fair:

The night before he was crucified Jesus prayed this:

"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."  John 17:24

He wants you to be with him, and he died for your sins so that you can be.

What will you decide?

You will never decide anything more important.

Much of society is now encouraging children in LGBTQ+ desires.

The Bible teaches we should not be surprised - the world system opposes God, and Jesus said the world would be like this at his return:

'Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.'  I John 2:15-17

'You adulterous people. Don't you realize that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.' James 4:4

In discussing his return, Jesus said:

"As it was in the days of Lot - so will it be in the day the Son of Man is revealed.Luke 17:26-30

What was it like in the days of Lot?

Two of God's angels in the form of men arrived at Sodom, and Lot took them into his home and prepared them something to eat. Then:

"Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom - both young and old - surrounded the house. They called to Lot, 'Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.'

Lot went out to them and said, 'Don't do this wicked thing.' . . . . 'They have come under the protection of my roof.'

'Get out of our way, they replied, or we will treat you worse than them.' They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.

The angels pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door. Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door." Genesis 19:1-11

The majority of those in the gay community and those who support the gay community are very nice people - but they may not realize the aggressive anger at the head of the gay movement.

Some time ago this anger could be seen in those picketing a Chick-fil-A restaurant. They carried signs saying things like 'Hate-fil-A.'

Whether or not you like their food, probably no one reading this who has eaten at a Chick-fil-A restaurant would say those who work there act like 'haters.' Chick-fil-A workers regularly rank among the highest in service and courtesy towards everyone.

So, what was the cause of the 'Hate-fil-A' picketing signs? Ownership of Chick-fil-A believed the Bible is accurate and some of their donations supported ministries that believe the Bible is accurate where it says homosexual sex is wrong. This is not acceptable to some of the leaders of the gay movement - and those who disagree with them must be brought into submission.

More recently a professional hockey player cited his religious faith in saying he couldn't wear a rainbow hockey outfit and use a rainbow taped hockey stick to celebrate 'Pride Night.' He was called a racist, a bigot and a hater. But he didn't hate anybody.

Say you believe the Bible is accurate regarding homosexual sex and you might be called a 'hater' and a 'Bible thumping homophobe.' No matter how nice you may be to those who are gay.

It may come to the point where saying you believe homosexual sex is sinful will be labeled hate speech. Go back just 20 years - would you have believed we would be seeing on TV what we are seeing today? Or what our children are being taught in school?

Many leaders of the gay community don't just want equal rights - they want to eliminate all opposition to their lifestyle from society - just "as it was in the days of Lot.' Like Jesus said above.

If you are a Christian who believes the Bible is accurate don't be surprised when what you believe is mocked.

The world tried to stop Jesus and his teaching by killing him, and the world has been trying to stop Jesus' teaching through his followers ever since.

"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you don't belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That's why the world hates you.

Remember what I said: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me."

Jesus - John 15:18-21

Jesus spoke these words to his disciples and apostles - almost all of them were killed for teaching what Jesus taught.

Hang in there Christian.

"God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God." John 3:16-18

Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
